Los Angeles Dodgers' two-way star Shohei Ohtani is currently dealing with multiple injuries, including discomfort in his left knee, right biceps, and neck. Ohtani, who has been struggling at the plate, sat out Thursday night's (September 3) victory against the St. Louis Cardinals. On Wednesday (September 2), he struck out four times, prompting the Dodgers to acknowledge that his injuries are impacting his performance.

Manager Dave Roberts noted that Ohtani's health is a "day-to-day" situation. Although the Dodgers are not planning to place him on the injured list, Roberts stated that Ohtani's availability would depend on ongoing assessments. According to Yahoo Sports, Ohtani has not pitched since July 3 due to his knee injury, despite having an impressive 8-2 record and 1.79 ERA in 14 starts this season.

Ohtani's recent slump includes a .128 batting average over his last 10 games, with 16 strikeouts and no RBIs. Despite these struggles, he has hit 30 home runs and recorded 80 RBIs this season. The Dodgers are hopeful for his recovery as they aim for a third consecutive World Series title. Sportsnet reports that Ohtani's return to pitching remains uncertain, and his status will be re-evaluated before Friday's game against the Washington Nationals.
