- Indian River County Sheriff Eric Flowers is proposing unused funds from county agencies from the prior fiscal year be allocated to his department amid an ongoing budget dispute that’s resulted in legal action. The funds, totaling $5.2 million, are close to equaling his requested budget from the county commission. The proposal was presented in a letter to the county commission on Thursday.
- Lake Worth Beach has approved a Park Ranger Program creating a new division of Park Rangers to patrol the city’s parks and public spaces. The $500,000 plan will result in 24/7 oversight of the city’s 32 open green spaces with a primary focus on the beachfront, Bryant Park, Sunset Ridge and Howard Park.
- West Palm Beach based fintech firm MyBambu is ceasing operations amid ongoing losses and a failure to secure additional funding. The closure will result in the loss of 141 jobs. 100 employees have let go with the remaining 41 staying on through the end of the year as operations wind down.
