  • Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced over 150 illegal immigrant sexual predators have been arrested by ICE under it’s ‘Operation Dirtbag’ which targeted illegal immigrants who were known sexual predators. In total, 230 arrests were made.  
  • Delray Beach Police are warning shoppers to beware of thieves targeting distracted shoppers in the area. Thefts have occurred at multiple area stores. Police are advising shoppers to keep purses and wallets on you, keep pockets zipped or buttoned, and to never leave purses in carts. Police also recommend staying alert and aware of who’s around you. 
  • Seminole Ridge High School’s assistant football coach, Ruben Tirado, has been arrested and charged with multiple counts including lewd and lascivious battery and an authority figure soliciting lewd conduct with a student (between the age of 12 to 16). Parents were notified by the school through a letter on Wednesday and are asked to contact the School District Police Department if they’re aware of any information related to the investigation.  
  • There were no flight cancellations at Palm Beach International Airport yesterday, and with the partial government shutdown over, air traffic should steadily improve across the country. All travelers should still pay close attention to flight schedules as the impact could continue to be felt as normal operations resume today and tomorrow. 
  • Cooler than usual temps persist today, though it will be warmer than the past two days with sunny skies and highs in the mid-70's. We might be nearing the end of the Saharan dust cycle for this season as there’s no meaningful level of dust currently in the Saharan Air Layer for the first time since the spring.  
  • The National Hurricane Center’s map is clear. Tropical cyclone activity is not expected during the next 7 days. 
  • Gas prices were flat on Wednesday. The average price for regular unleaded in Florida is currently $2.96 per gallon. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.11 per gallon, in Martin the average is $3.00, it’s $2.99 in St. Lucie, and in Indian River County the average is $2.97 per gallon.
