Pembroke Pines, FL - In a meeting that was supposed to focus on town business, a Pembroke Park commission workshop took a sharp turn when Mayor Geoffrey Jacobs allegedly unleashed a string of profane remarks at fellow commissioners during a heated exchange.
The mayor was participating in the meeting by phone while out of state when the argument began over whether the commission should schedule additional meetings to address unresolved issues.
According to the meeting record, Jacobs strongly objected to the proposal and repeatedly used profanity while criticizing commissioners for what he described as years of inaction.
He allegedly accused the commission of wasting nearly three years without meaningful results and told members they were incapable of handling basic responsibilities.
He also emphasized that 2026 needed to be a year of tangible progress for the town.
During the exchange, Jacobs allegedly directed a personal insult at Vice Mayor Musfika Kashem, who oversees the town’s finances, calling her “cupcake” and claiming she had not done her job.
Other commissioners objected to the language and tone of the remarks as the discussion continued to escalate.
The meeting was eventually adjourned while the mayor was still speaking.
The town attorney later stated that while the conduct could raise ethical concerns under local standards, it did not appear to violate state law.
Jacobs has previously faced controversy related to his conduct in office, including past disputes with town officials and findings from outside investigations into his behavior.
As of now, no formal disciplinary action has been announced in connection with this incident, and the town has not indicated whether further steps will be taken.
