The Tampa Bay Lightning (40-23-5) defeated the Dallas Stars (43-21-4) 3-2 in the shootout on Thursday night in Dallas for their third straight win.
Brandon Hagel and Anthony Cireli both had a goal and an assist in regulation to help the Lightning built a 2-0 lead in the second period. The Stars then scored twice in the second period to tie the game 2-2, which would be the score after regulation.
Still tied 2-2 after overtime, the game was decided in the fourth round of the shootout when Gage Goncalves scored the game-winning shootout goal to lift Tampa Bay to a second point.
