  • Anastasios Kamoutsas has been confirmed as Florida’s next education commissioner. The Florida Board of Education voted to confirm Governor DeSantis’ pick to replace outgoing commissioner Manny Diaz Jr. who will soon be the Interim President of the University of West Florida. Kamoutsas has served in the Florida Department of Education since 2019.  
  • Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino has confirmed Jeffrey Epstein's death as a suicide. Wednesday Bongino told Sean Hannity that: The evidence we have in our files clearly indicates that it was, in fact, a suicide. We do have video.  
  • The Florida Panthers dropped game one of the Stanley Cup finals to Edmonton 4-3 as the Florida Panthers look to repeat as champions. Game two is tomorrow night at 8. 
  • Cloudy skies and drier conditions today with highs in the upper 80’s, which is typical for this date. Saharan Dust continues to make its way over Florida leading to drier conditions and warmer temperatures heading into the weekend. 
  • The National Hurricane Center’s Tropical Outlook is clear with tropical cyclone activity not expected over the next 7 days. 
  • Gas prices rose six cents per gallon on Wednesday. The average price for regular unleaded in Florida is currently $3.08 per gallon. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.22 per gallon, in Martin the average is $3.13 and in Indian River County the average is $3.11 per gallon.
