Seven people were sent to the hospital Thursday in Gulf Stream after an accident involving a vehicle and a group of bicyclists.
The crash occurred along North Ocean Boulevard, near the Gulf Stream Golf Club.
The Florida Highway Patrol says a 77-year old woman was driving a Kia Soul southbound when she crossed the center lane divider and continued going southbound in the northbound lanes, crashing into a 43-year old bicyclist from Boca Raton and seven others.
Six cyclists in all, along with the driver, were taken to the hospital with three of the bike riders transported as trauma alerts.
The crash resulted in the closure of North Ocean from George Bush Boulevard to the Woolbright Bridge for several hours.
