An emergency meeting in the village of Key Biscayne expected Friday following a woman's death.
Key Biscayne Mayor Joe Rasco called an emergency meeting for tonight to discuss new rules for e-bikes. A boy,12, riding an e-bike hit and killed a woman,66, riding a bike Wednesday at Woodcrest and Hampton lanes. Residents had asked for regulations on e-bikes, and village officials discussed the issue as recently as the day before. No changes were announced at that meeting, but Rasco said yesterday he'll propose an emergency ban on e-bikes and scooters effective immediately.
