Cyclist Threatened with Gun After Exchange with Driver in Homestead

Homestead, FL - A cyclist in Homestead was allegedly threatened with a gun by a driver on April 28th.

According to a Homestead police arrest report, 27-year-old Frank Sanchez sped past the cyclist while driving a Dodge Charger.

After a brief exchange of words, Sanchez reportedly parked his car, retrieved a gun, and chased the cyclist while making threats.

The cyclist escaped unharmed and a neighbor's surveillance camera captured footage of Sanchez's vehicle following the victim.

Authorities were able to identify Sanchez and locate him based on this information.

Sanchez was arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a firearm and child abuse causing no great bodily harm.

He admitted to following the cyclist but denied pointing a gun.

A judge set bond at $5,000 for the aggravated assault charge. The case is ongoing.
