There's some flooding expected in South Florida for the next week thanks to King Tides. Fort Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis says they're working aggressively to raise sea walls to install new catch basins throughout the city. He says the city has invested one-million dollars for elevated sea walls in Merle Fogg Park by the Las Olas bridge and sea wall replacement in Rio Vista near Cordovo Road. The city also distributes sandbags weekly for residents. King tides occur from late August until mid-December.
