The Florida House has passed a bill that would limit Governor Ron DeSantis' involvement in the search for public university presidents.

That's despite claims by the governor that HB-1321 is an attack on him by Republican House Speaker Daniel Perez who has been at odds with DeSantis over multiple issues.

A Pensacola Republican filed the bill.

"I don't think she was the one that wrote it. I think this was the Speaker told her to run it. But from Escambia County Michelle Salzman."

Salzman says her bill isn't an attack on the governor but an attempt to make Florida universities more transparent.

DeSantis fears it could result in schools bringing in presidents with liberal agendas that would turn them into "indoctrination camps."

A Senate version is still moving through committees.

If it does pass there, DeSantis is threatening to veto it.
