Charge Dropped Against Alexander Brothers' Friend

On the eve of what was supposed to be the start of jury selection for the sexual battery by multiple perpetrators trial of Alexander Brothers' friend Ohad Fisherman, the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office dropping a bomb.

The Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle releasing a statement saying:

Before any discussion of today’s decision regarding the prosecution of defendant Ohad Fisherman, it is imperative that I acknowledge the enormous courage of M.W., the victim in this case, as well as the other victims in the remaining cases against defendants Oren Alexander and Alon Alexander. The victims in these cases, like those in all sexual battery cases, must first suffer the most intimate of all violations, then come forward and face public scrutiny that oftentimes, regrettably, comes with unwarranted attacks regarding their motivations. Then in Florida’s state criminal justice system, they are required to sit through countless hours of deposition, retelling the details of their assault, followed by public courtroom testimony. I have dedicated my entire career to seeking some semblance of justice for all sexual assault victims, but today I want to particularly reaffirm my admiration for these victims’ strength and commit once again to their cause and the remaining cases against the Alexander brothers. In this case, defendant Ohad Fisherman was charged with one count of Sexual Battery/Multiple Perpetrators as a principal, in that he aided and assisted Oren and Alon Alexander to commit sexual batteries on M.W. nearly nine years ago. As in all prosecutions, after the filing of charges, we continued to investigate Ohad Fisherman’s conduct on the date that M.W. was sexually battered. Part of the evidence learned by the State subsequent to the filing of this case was a Facebook post which included a video purportedly placing Fisherman on a boat cruising on the water in Miami Beach at sunset on New Year’s Eve 2016, very close in time to the sexual battery incident. Also, according to Facebook records, the video was posted around 9 pm that same night. After the prosecution disclosed this evidence to the defense, on July 2, 2025, Ohad Fisherman filed a Notice of Alibi with the court. In his filing, Fisherman claims that at the time of M.W.’s sexual battery, he was “on a boat in the water somewhere along the Intercoastal Waterway.” The defendant’s presence at the scene of the crime is an essential element of proof and this video evidence casts doubt on that proof. Given the prosecution’s inability to conclusively disprove the alibi, we determined in good faith that we could not prove the case against Ohad Fisherman beyond and to the exclusion of all reasonable doubt, which is required by law. Our decision today is only as to Ohad Fisherman. The cases against Oren and Alon Alexander remain pending and nothing involving the disposition of this case affects the cases against the Alexander brothers. As these are filed criminal prosecutions, we are not at liberty to discuss this matter further at this time.

The state is still pursuing charges against Oren and Alon Alexander.
