South Florida Urban Search & Rescue Team Members Called To TX

Some of South Florida's finest are answering the call for help in Texas.

Seven members of Miami-Dade Fire Rescue's Urban Search and Rescue Task Force One, including two dogs, are on the way to south central Texas to assist in locating trapped flood victims.

Urban Search and Rescue Program Manager Battalion Chief Brandon Webb says, "We do a myriad of training with the canines for locating victims that are not visible as well as water rescue - swiftwater and wide-area flooding."

He adds, each disaster is different, but he expects to find widespread devastation along the Guadalupe River.

He vows the team will do whatever it can to help families with their recovery.

Miami's Task Force Two is sending two people who will be embedded with a FEMA Urban Search and Rescue Incident Support Team of 30.
