Florida Highway Patrol Seizes 150 Pounds Of Marijuana, $40K In Bust

Polk County, FL - A Polk County man was arrested after leading troopers on a high-speed chase, resulting in the discovery of 150 pounds of marijuana and $40,000 in cash.

The driver of a GMC truck, initially stopped for driving without a seat belt and having a covered license plate, sped away on westbound Interstate 4.

Reaching speeds of 110 mph in a 65 mph zone, the driver allegedly swerved between traffic lanes and intentionally collided with the trooper’s vehicle.

The trooper then executed a PIT maneuver to bring the truck to a halt.

Upon stopping the vehicle, officers discovered 150 pounds of marijuana and $40,000 in cash.

Additionally, they recovered jewelry and casino chips.

The marijuana was found in six boxes, each containing 25 bags of the drug.

The driver, identified as 38-year-old Jimmie Flournoy, was arrested and taken to Polk County Jail without bond.

Flournoy faces multiple charges, including reckless driving, resisting an officer with violence, marijuana possession with intent to sell, and aggravated fleeing with injury or damage.

Authorities emphasized the dangers law enforcement officers face daily in their efforts to ensure road safety.
