Miami-Dade Public Schools hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Southside Preparatory Academy, a K-through-eight school in Brickell which also has workforce housing for District employees. Chief Design and Construction officer Raul Perez says the Academy has ten, one-bedroom studio units for rent under market value. The goal is to help employees out with housing costs because of the affordability crisis. The public-private partnership between the school district and county is the first of its kind in South Florida, similar facilities are already planned.
