Tampa School Bus And SUV Collision Sends Four To Hospital

Tampa, FL - A school bus carrying 29 students collided with an SUV Thursday morning in Tampa, sending four people to the hospital, including two students and both drivers.

The crash occurred just before 9 a.m. at the intersection of 43rd Street and Hanna Avenue.

Tampa police reported that the driver of a Dodge Durango allegedly experienced a medical episode, causing the vehicle to veer in front of the bus and strike its front driver’s side.

Emergency responders transported the SUV driver to a nearby hospital with a broken leg and additional injuries.

He is currently in critical but stable condition.

Two students sustained minor injuries and were also taken to the hospital for evaluation.

The bus driver suffered minor injuries and received medical attention at the hospital as well.

Following the crash, most of the students were transported to school, where counseling services were made available.

Other students were sent home after the incident.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, including whether the SUV driver’s alleged medical episode contributed to the collision.

Tampa police emphasized the ongoing review to determine all factors that led to the incident.

The school district and local authorities are monitoring the well-being of the students and staff involved.

Emergency services responded promptly to the scene, ensuring that injured individuals received immediate care.
