The search is on for vandals who used a brick to smash the marquee of an openly LGBTQ-inclusive church.
The damage was discovered Monday at Metropolitan Community Church of the Palm Beaches in Palm Beach Gardens.
A plexiglass sign promoting a "gay progress service" was shattered. Surveillance video shows three people approaching the marquee before one of them hurls the brick and then a bystander is heard screaming, "Corey!"
A spokesman for the progressive church said in a statement that "unfortunately in our society today, hate and viciousness is common in our public discourse."
Pastor Kevin Konkle notes that the church has faced repeated attacks, including broken car windows, severed electrical lines and repeated vandalism of its sign.
