A new poll shows NPA's are crossing over to vote democrat in Florida. Edge Communications Christian Ulvert says the numbers show midterm races including Governor and U.S. Senate are within the margin of error.
Currently the state has more than a million registered Republican voters than democrats, but the statewide poll shows Florida emerging as a swing state with some key midterm races becoming more competitive with independents leaning left.
The MDW Communications and EDGE Communications poll suggests there is a shift in Florida's Republican-led political environment with (No Party Affiliation) NPA's seemingly determining the outcome.
In addition to the poll finding Democrats bolstered by NPA's within the margin of error in some midterm elections, a successful Florida attorney announces he's forming a third political party before the midterms in November.
Attorney John Morgan successfully backed two Florida amendments, legalizing medical marijuana and raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour. Now, rather than running for governor, he wants to give voters another party option.
Some poll findings:
"Democrats lead the generic congressional ballot 46.0% to 45.2%, with strong support among No Party Affiliation (NPA) voters
Affordability issues — including housing, property insurance, and taxes — dominate voter concerns and are reshaping the political landscape
President Donald Trump holds a net negative approval across key issues, from the economy to government spending, Iran military actions, ICE raids, and more — and is significantly underwater with independent voters."
