American Airlines flight attendan t Celinda Levno, 71, was killed in a random stabbing attack during a layover in Denver. The incident occurred on Saturday (January 11) along the 16th Street Mall, a bustling area in downtown Denver. Levno, a Phoenix-based attendant, was one of two people killed in a series of stabbings that also injured two others.

Police arrested 24-year-old Elijah Caudill on Sunday (January 12) in connection with the attacks. He faces multiple charges, including first-degree murder and attempted murder. Authorities believe the attacks were random, with no known connection between Caudill and the victims.

American Airlines expressed their sorrow, stating, "We are heartbroken and mourning the tragic loss of our colleague who was the victim of a senseless crime last night."

The Association of Professional Flight Attendants also mourned Levno, remembering her love for horses, friends, and family.

Levno began her career with America West in 1989, which later merged into American Airlines. Her friend, Josephine Dale, described her as a giving and kind person, heavily involved in the Arabian horse industry and an accomplished musician. A GoFundMe page has been set up to support her family and cover funeral expenses.

The attack has raised concerns about public safety in downtown Denver, especially as businesses on the 16th Street Mall recover from pandemic disruptions. The investigation is ongoing, with police seeking to understand the motive behind the attacks.
