- Flu cases are on the decline in Florida according to the CDC’s weekly data. Over the past week Florida’s rate of spread is said to be ‘high’, that’s down from ‘very high’ over the previous week. 52 of Florida’s 67 counties are experiencing lower rates of flu transmission including Palm Beach County and all Treasure Coast counties.
- The Palm Beach International Raceway in Jupiter is back up for sale after the real-estate developer that purchased the property scrapped plans to build a warehouse complex at the current site. The 174+ acre site and raceway first opened in 1964 but has been closed in recent years with the previous owner citing financial issues with maintaining the raceway.
- South Ocean Blvd. in the vicinity of Mar-a-Lago has fully reopened to regular traffic for the first time since last July’s assassination attempt on President Trump. According to Palm Beach officials the bridge openings have also gone back to usual schedules.
- Today we’ll have cloudy skies and showers throughout the day with highs in the low to mid 60’s, cooler than usual for this date. Similar weather is expected for most of the week.
- Gas prices are higher than a week ago. The average price for regular unleaded in Florida is currently $3.18 per gallon - eight cents higher than a week ago. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.33 per gallon, in Martin the average is $3.23 and in Indian River County the average is $3.16 per gallon.
