- Governor DeSantis has appointed four sheriffs to the state’s new Board of Immigration enforcement. The Board, which was established with new policy signed into law following Florida’s recent special session, will provide information and recommendations to the state about how best to combat illegal immigration. The Sheriffs appointed are Polk County’s Grady Judd, Pinellas County’s Bob Gualtieri, Jacksonville’s T.K. Waters and Charlotte County’s Bill Prummell.
- The West Palm Beach metro led the country in the percentage of all cash real estate deals over the past year based on a new Redfin analysis. According to the study, just under half, 49.6%, of all property transactions in the Palm Beaches were all cash deals (slightly lower than a year ago). In total Florida had four of the top five metros for cash deals with Jacksonville 2nd, Fort Lauderdale 4th and Miami 5th.
- According to AAA, Florida destinations remain at the top of the list for Spring Breakers this year. From March through mid-April the top travel destinations in the US are Orlando and Fort Lauderdale. Miami, despite Miami Beaches’ efforts to discourage spring breakers from visiting the city, is 4th and Tampa is 8th.
- Cloudy skies and warm today with highs in the lower 80’s – warmer than usual for this date. A cold front will be moving into our area over the next day with cooler temps for the rest of the week.
- Gas prices rose four cents per gallon on Tuesday. The average price for regular unleaded in Florida is currently $3.15 per gallon. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.31 per gallon, in Martin the average is $3.20 and in Indian River County the average is $3.17 per gallon.
