- The Palm Beach County commission has approved a plan that will convert the La Quinta Inn on Okeechobee Blvd. into a 55 and older community that will be aimed at assisting low-income seniors. The facility has 114 rooms that will be converted over the next 3-4 years for permanent housing purposes. The county will purchase the building for $15 million with an estimated total cost of over $20 million.
- Boca Raton has approved a new Government Redevelopment Campus that will establish a new 30-acre government complex downtown which will include a new city hall. The vote, which allows developers to move forward with proposals, allows for the potential for additional residential space, dinning, a hotel and commercial space as well.
- Hoffman’s Chocolates has closed its original Greenacres store location. The South Florida staple had operated from the Greenacres location since its founding in 1975. Hoffman’s other locations in Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach Gardens and Plantation remain open.
- After another cool start in the 50’s today will be sunny and nice with highs in the upper-70's – typical for this date. We’ll have warmer weather on Thursday before a significant cold front makes its way into the area on Friday.
- Gas prices fell another two cents per gallon on Tuesday. The average price for regular unleaded in Florida is currently $3.05 per gallon. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.20 per gallon, in Martin the average is $3.06 and in Indian River County the average is $3.06 per gallon.
