- Republicans Randy Fine and Jimmy Patronis easily carried their special congressional elections in Florida’s 1st and 6th districts, winning by 14 and 15 points, expanding the Republican majority in the U.S. House of Representatives.
- Governor DeSantis announced that each of Florida's 67 sheriff’s offices now have a Hope Florida liaison in their office. The liaisons are a point of contact between the sheriff’s office and the Casey DeSantis-led Hope program that “brings together the private sector, faith-based community, and nonprofits and utilizes Hope Navigators to guide individuals through existing resources and onto a pathway to economic prosperity and self-sufficiency". To date over 118,000 Floridians have used the Hope Florida program with over 30,000 who’ve become completely self-sufficient – exiting the use of government assistance programs.
- Palm Beach Atlantic has plans to increase its current enrollment from a maximum of 3,000 students to 5,000 students as it seeks to expand its footprint in West Palm Beach. According to plans submitted to the city, PBA wants to build a 25-story student dormitory with 275 units and 888 parking spots to accommodate the proposed increased enrollment. This comes as the school is currently in the process of adding a six-story business school on campus.
- Mostly clear skies and warm again today with highs in the mid 80’s which is warmer than usual for this date. We’ll have similar but windier weather on Thursday.
- Gas prices surged by ten cents per gallon on Tuesday. The average price for regular unleaded in Florida is currently $3.17 per gallon. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.31 per gallon, in Martin the average is $3.23 and in Indian River County the average is $3.21 per gallon.
