  • Two men, Jaime Figueroa and Raymond Jean, were arrested for the sex trafficking of three underage girls who ran away from home. According to police reports the men drugged the girls, brought them into prostitution, and lived off of their earnings. Two hotels in Boynton Beach and one in Lantana were used by the suspects. 
  • The Palm Beach County Commission has approved Palm Beach Atlantic’s plan for financing a new 25-story mixed use dormitory in West Palm Beach. PBA’s plan is to issue bonds totaling $250 million which was the subject of Tuesday’s vote. The dorm, once completed, will have 990 beds. The ETA is August of 2027. 
  • Publix has announced opening dates for new locations throughout South Florida. A store in West Boca’s new shopping center, The Greens, on State Road 7, will open on May 1st with a grand opening for its new location in the Promenade Shopping Plaza on Alternate A1A in Palm Beach Gardens will take place May 8th.  
  • It’ll be cloudy and windy today with a chance of passing showers and highs in the upper 70’s. Similar weather with slightly higher rain chances are in the forecast for Thursday. 
  • Gas prices rose a penny per gallon on Tuesday. The average price for regular unleaded in Florida is currently $3.20 per gallon. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.34 per gallon, in Martin the average is $3.25 and in Indian River County the average is $3.24 per gallon.
