Today’s Entry: I know you wrapped up today’s comment about DEI. We might forget, but there’s nobody in the government that will actually go after other government people and hold them accountable for being wrong. Like after four years of Biden and all the wrongdoing, nobody’s gonna be held accountable. I’m sorry to say this country is lost because the moment the Democrats get back in they will dig even deeper to keep the deep state there.
Bottom Line: It’s important to address today’s note for a couple of reasons. First, to clarify comments I made yesterday in discussing the Palm Beach County School District’s vote to temporarily end DEI policies to come into compliance with federal law (and to avoid losing $300 million in federal funding) but also to address the bigger picture in play here. This just in... You’re winning. If you support parental rights in education, you’re winning. If you support an end to discriminatory DEI policies, you’re winning. And what comes next is up to you. So, about this...
Yesterday, I ended my Top 3 Takeaways by saying...the school board members responsible for this must be held accountable for this. That was in reference for the Palm Beach County School District’s violation of the Civil Rights Act due to the DEI policies that had been in place. In today’s note it’s suggested that accountability should come from the government. That’s not what I meant. I’m not looking for the state of Florida or the federal government to bring charges against school board members for their discriminatory policies, including flagrant violations of the Civil Rights Act. I was referring to us, the community, as voters holding the offending school board members accountable. That’s what our focus should be, and I strongly disagree that this country is lost.
Governments, at all levels, are a reflection of us. Rather than worrying about what might happen when Democrats might come back into power again consider this. Three years ago, Democrats held complete control of the federal government. Today Republicans hold complete control of the federal government. There are more elected Republicans in the state of Florida than at any other time in the state’s history and locally....
At the peak of the Democrat’s voter registration advantage in Palm Beach County, in 2008, Democrats held a voter registration advantage of 140,800 voters. Today that advantage is down to only 33,300 voters. Palm Beach County voted for the entire Republican cabinet in the 2022 midterms, for the first time in the county’s history, and President Trump – who lost his home county by over 15-points in 2016, lost Palm Beach County by less than a point last year. The last thing any conservatives locally, or frankly across the country need to be doing is taking a defensive and perhaps defeatist stance. This is a time to go on offense. On that note, consider this about the changes we’ve already seen with DEI policies since the onset of the Trump administration:
- 60% of S&P 500 companies have dropped DEI policies in their financial filings with the SEC
- Only 22% of companies have kept DEI budgets the same or have increased them this year
- Major companies that set the tone in corporate America and often through advertising trends are on the record for dropping DEI in their companies including Amazon, AT&T, Bank of America, Blackrock, Boeing, Citigroup, Ford, GM, Goldman Sachs, Google, McDonald’s, Target, Walmart & more.
Those are massive wins corporately, but also culturally. Which is the next most important point and it’s something I’m especially mindful of given what I do. I’m interested in winning hearts and minds, not just winning elections. Clearly that’s been happening over time in Florida. Clearly that’s been happening in Palm Beach County specifically. Clearly last year’s election cycle was a catalyst shift corporately.
Yes, there will likely be Democrats in complete power nationally once again. But just as Barack Obama didn’t believe in open borders, that doesn’t mean the next Democrat president must believe in open borders. Just as Bill Clinton didn’t do DEI, doesn’t mean the next Dem needs to do DEI. On that note, this is why it’s important to discuss what really has happened within the Palm Beach School District this week. The real reason the district had to curb it’s DEI policies is because the Trump administration is enforcing the Civil Rights Act. This gets to what I’ll do, and you should too. Call out any entity with DEI policies.
Every company, every government entity, every organization of any kind with DEI policies is in violation of the Civil Rights Act. Therefore, unless one opposes the Civil Rights Act, they can’t be in favor of DEI policies. How many Democrats oppose the Civil Rights Act? That’s the question to ask. That’s the next step in a permanent cultural shift from this ridiculousness. I’m optimistic.
