- Governor DeSantis announced a new $1 billion gas turbine manufacturing facility will be coming to Florida. The Williams International project will take place in Okaloosa County in Northwest Florida and is the largest manufacturing project in the region’s history. - Governor DeSantis vetoed the Recovery of Damages for Medical Negligence Resulting in Death bill on Thursday. The bill aimed to repeal Florida’s law which prevents adult children and their parents from pursing non-economic damages for medical negligence. DeSantis said: In my judgment, it would lead to higher costs for Floridians, it would lead to less access to care for Floridians.
