Former President Joe Biden's only hand-signed pardon was reportedly the one regarding his son, Hunter, according to FOX News.

The Justice Department is reportedly reviewing the pardons signed by Biden, 82, via the use of autopen amid new concerns about his state of mind and mental acuity during the end of his presidential term. The former president granted clemency and pardoned more than 1,500 people during what was reported by the White House to be the largest single-day act of clemency in December, but only signed the pardon involving his son by hand.

Biden pardoned his son on December 1, despite previously claiming he wouldn't take action to help Hunter, 54, during the G7 summit in June. Hunter Biden was scheduled to be sentenced on separate federal gun and tax evasion cases later this month after pleading guilty in September to nine counts of evading the government of $1.4 million in taxes and being convicted of three federal gun charges for possessing a firearm while addicted to crack cocaine in June.

The former president argued that his son was "selectively, and unfairly, prosecuted" in a pardon that covered all of his son's offenses between January 1, 2014, and December 1, 2024.

“From the day I took office, I said I would not interfere with the Justice Department’s decision-making, and I kept my word even as I have watched my son being selectively, and unfairly, prosecuted,” he said via FOX News. “There has been an effort to break Hunter — who has been five and a half years sober, even in the face of unrelenting attacks and selective prosecution. In trying to break Hunter, they’ve tried to break me — and there’s no reason to believe it will stop here. Enough is enough.

“I hope Americans will understand why a father and a president would come to this decision.”
