The Truth Behind “Free Palestine” & The ‘El Paso Dude’ - Top 3 Takeaways – June 4th, 2025 - Driven By Braman Motorcars
Takeaway #1: The real reason the “Free Palestine” thing caught on
There are two sides to stories and one side to facts. If you’ve ever listened to me, you’ve heard that thing. And it’s as true today as it was 27 years ago when I first said it. It will still be true 27 years from now when Kai Trump is president. On Sunday, just before news broke of the horrific terrorist attack committed in Boulder, Colorado by the “El Paso Dude”, aka the Egyptian illegal immigrant Islamic terrorist – my wonderful and talented wife Ashley asked me why it is that one of her (and my) former favorite bands, Imagine Dragons supported terrorists? If you’re not familiar with the incident, last week while in Italy, Imagine Dragons front man Dan Reynolds draped himself in the Palestinian flag, kissed it, held it high and then threw it into the crowd. Now, I’ll hold out the possibility that Dan Reynolds is a useful idiot...but given certain other political proclivities he displayed at shows over the years...he may know what he’s doing when he’s wrapping himself in a non-country's flag that’s run by an elected terrorist organization with a mission statement that states: Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it. '[Peace] initiatives, and so-called peaceful solutions and international conferences are in contradiction to the principles of the Islamic Resistance Movement... Those conferences are no more than a means to appoint the infidels as arbitrators in the lands of Islam... There is no solution for the Palestinian problem except by Jihad. Once again, this is why there can be no “two-state” solution. The “Palestinians” under Hamas are only interested in one kind of solution...the final solution. If your mission statement literally states Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it and...there is no solution for the Palestinian problem, except by Jihad...you have an awful lot in common with Nazis. After all, the 6 million Jews in 21 countries who were murdered under the Third Reich’s “solution” was without a doubt the most effective operation ever undertaken for those seeking what Hamas’s Palestinian's are seeking. And that, I believe, is the devil in the details that plays into the real reason the “free Palestine” thing caught on. A Pew Research study found that outside of Israel, in the middle east, an average of only 3% of people viewed Jews favorably (with 97% holding unfavorable opinions). This is consistent with a population of people who elected an Islamic terrorist organization to led them as was the case with the “Palestinian” people with Hamas. The only other studied body of people who have viewed Jews similarly are Nazi’s. Now you might have noticed that being supportive of Nazi’s isn’t exactly a socially acceptable thing.
Takeaway #2: But does that mean that hatred of Jews has simply gone away?
There hasn’t been a lot of survey work done on this in recent years, but two separate surveys in this country found that more people are sympathetic to those views than you may know. An estimated 22+ million Americans, or 9%, are outright supportive of Nazi’s, while the Anti-Defamation League recently found nearly a quarter, or 24% of Americans hold anti-Sematic views. Now walking around in society with a Nazi flag might not be considered acceptable throughout our society, but in leftist circles being “Pro-Palestinian” is. There’s obviously and sadly a wide swath of society that harbors hate for Jews – which is nothing new but the mechanism for displaying it for many is. You don’t have to present yourself as antisemitic but rather “pro-Palestinian”. Again, they’re entirely the same thing. It’s not possible to be “pro-Palestinian” without being anti-Israel and antisemitic. Some will say that Hamas has taken advantage of the Palestinian people but that’s not true. Not only was Hamas elected by the people, and not only do 97% of Palestinians surveyed harbor hate towards Jews, but 71% of Palestinians surveyed after October 7th said it was the right thing to do. There’s no way to spin the Palestinian thing into anything other than what it is but there is a way to the ignorant left to spin the narrative about Jewish/Israeli hate. Again – there are two sides to stories and one side to facts, and these are the facts. Now, I don’t know what’s in Dan Reynold's heart to know if this is what’s at play with him (although perhaps his Demons got the better of him) – however the data show that with many in society it’s interconnected with many knowing exactly what they’re doing. I also know Ashley and I are done with Imagine Dragon’s music...which isn’t so hard to do these days because we pretty much exclusively listen to Christian music anyway.
Takeaway #3: Family Ties
Right next to the Wonder Years, Family Ties was probably my second favorite go to in the 80’s (although there’s a lot of strong competition) as I’ve always said – Michael J. Fox was an actor – I was the real-life Alex P. Keaton. Anyway, back to our Illegal Immigrant Egyptian Islamic Terrorist aka, the MSM’s El Paso Dude, brought into the country during the Biden administration. His family is in fact illegally here too. But not for much longer. On Tuesday the wife of and five children of the illegal immigrant terrorist were detained by ICE for expedited removal. What’s the over/under the ACLU tries to sue? What is the over/under a judge rules to keep them here? After all, we’ve already seen this once with the ‘Maryland Man’. Or will this finally be the time that people decide to do the right thing? Under Biden it was easy for terrorists to come in but Leftists filing lawsuits and leftists behind the bench has made it way too hard for us to make them leave.
