  • Governor DeSantis has signed five additional bills into law. The Emergencies law overhauls numerous state policies during and after hurricanes aimed at faster response times by state and local governments. The Entities that Boycott Israel law expands the definition to include prohibitions by the state to contract with, or issue grants to educational institutions, nonprofits, government entities and arts and cultural organizations that openly boycott Israel. The Permits for Drilling, Exploration, and Extraction of Oil and Gas Resources law bans drilling and energy exploration in the Apalachicola River. 
  • Governor DeSantis has appointed Tracy Caruso and reappointed Daniel Epstein to the Palm Beach State College District Board of Trustees. Caruso is the wife of state representative Mike Caruso, and the President and Owner of Delray Beach Executive Suites. Epstein is the Vice President of American First Legal. 
  • It'll be mostly cloudy and humid again today with highs in upper 80’s, which is typical for this date. Rain chances increase on Tuesday. The most recent Saharan dust plume is clearing Florida today, however another plume is heading towards the Caribbean and will likely make its way over Florida and into the Gulf of America later this week. 
  • The National Hurricane Center is tracking a disturbance with a 20% chance of developing over or near Florida over the next week. The system is likely to be a rain event for much of the state. 
  • Gas prices fell through the weekend to a new low for the year and are 16 cents lower than a week ago. The average price for regular unleaded in Florida is currently $2.94 per gallon. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.12 per gallon, in Martin the average is $3.00 and in Indian River County the average is $2.97 per gallon.
