  • Locally Indian River, Martin, Palm Beach and St. Lucie School Districts all received “A” grades over the past year.
  • Florida’s property insurance market is the healthiest it’s been this decade based on data from broker Aon’s Reinsurance Market Dynamic – Midyear 2025 report. Quoting Aon: Florida entered the mid-year renewals on a much sounder footing following recent legal reforms, stronger building codes, better catastrophe modeling and disciplined underwriting actions that have restored confidence in the local insurance market. The improvement has resulted in Citizens Property Insurance, the state’s insurer of last resort, shedding nearly half of its policies from peak levels and commonly lower renewal rates for existing policies among the private insurance market amid growing competition within the state.
  • It'll be partly cloudy and humid again today with highs near 90, which is a bit warmer than usual for this date. Rain chances increase on Wednesday. A significant Saharan dust plume is moving south of Florida into the Gulf with another plume currently working across the central Atlantic.
  • The National Hurricane Center’s 7-day tropical outlook is clear aside from the post-Tropical remnants of Chantel off the northeast coastline.
  • Gas prices dropped three cents per gallon on Monday. The average price for regular unleaded in Florida is currently $3.04 per gallon. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.22 per gallon, in Martin the average is $3.03 and in Indian River County the average is $3.03 per gallon.
