- Governor DeSantis has named state Senator Blaise Ingoglia as the state’s CFO and Chief Fire Marshall replacing Jimmy Patronis who replaced Matt Gaetz in Congress earlier this year. Ingoglia has served in the state legislature since 2014 and is also the former Chair of the Republican Party of Florida.
- The Socialist organizers of three attempted nationwide protests this year, including the “No Kings” protests in June, are attempting a 4th protest today. Dubbed “Good Trouble Lives On”, the organizers are attempting to perpetuate protests across the country, including 50 locations within Florida.
- Boynton Beach has removed the “Pride” painted intersection at East Ocean Ave. And SE 1st Street citing safety concerns. According to the City, the intersection was not properly marked or rated for vehicular traffic violating state and federal safety standards.
- It'll be hot and humid with a chance of rain and thunderstorms throughout the day today with highs near 90, which is a little warmer than usual for this date. Saharan dust is moving into the Caribbean with the potential to impact our weather this weekend.
- The National Hurricane Center is tracking a disturbance in the northern Gulf. The system is currently given a 30% chance for development as it’s expected to pass over Southern Louisiana as a rain event.
- Gas prices rose by another 6 cents per gallon on Wednesday. The average price for regular unleaded in Florida is currently $3.14 per gallon. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.29 per gallon, in Martin the average is $3.16 and in Indian River County the average is $3.16 per gallon.
