  • President Trump has endorsed Florida state Senator Joe Gruters to chair the Republican National Committee as current RNC chair Michael Whatley, is set to run for senate in North Carolina. Gruters has previously served as the chair of the Florida Republican Party. 
  • After a recent Supreme Court win allowing for Governor DeSantis’s congressional map to remain in place, the governor is suggesting the state consider redistricting prior to the next Census to account for population shifts in the state and to correct other “defects” in potentially gerrymandered districts.  
  • Palm Beach Police are warning of a new sophisticated life insurance scam. According to authorities, scammers are posing as attorneys and sending out letters that appear to be from legitimate law firms claiming that potential victims are to receive proceeds from a life insurance policy. The scammers then request personal money to complete the scam. Anyone who receives this type of communication is asked to contact law enforcement. 
  • It’ll be hot and sunny today with highs in the low 90’s, which is warmer than usual for this date. A Saharan dust plume is currently tracking across Florida and the Caribbean and will bring drier conditions through the weekend. Related...  
  • The National Hurricane Center is tracking a disturbance over the northwestern Gulf that’s moving westward towards Texas with a 10% chance of development. Otherwise, the tropics are clear. 
  • Gas prices rose another five cents per gallon on Thursday. The average price for regular unleaded in Florida is currently $3.14 per gallon. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.29 per gallon, in Martin the average is $3.16 and in Indian River County the average is $3.16 per gallon.
