  • The Florida Chamber of Commerce’s Mid-Year report showed Florida’s economy continues to significantly outpace the rest of the country. Florida’s economy grew 1.9% faster than the U.S. economy to start the year, the second highest growth rate only to South Carolina.  
  • A 23-acre brush fire that prompted evacuations and road closures for some residents of Vero Beach on Sunday has been contained. The fire ranged between 5th Street SW and Oslo Road from 20th Ave. To 27th Ave. It was contained by approximately 5 p.m. The cause of the fire is under investigation. 
  • It'll be sunny, hot and humid again today with highs in the low 90’s, which is warmer than usual for this date. More Saharan dust is on its way as it's currently tracking across the central Atlantic and towards the Caribbean. Related... 
  • The National Hurricane Center’s 7-day Tropical Weather Outlook is clear with no tropical cyclone activity.  
  • Gas prices fell through the weekend, though they remain two cents higher than a week ago. The average price for regular unleaded in Florida is currently $3.09 per gallon. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.23 per gallon, in Martin the average is $3.09 and in Indian River County the average is $3.10 per gallon.
