- The state of Florida has begun the formal process for the establishment of a second detentsion center for illegal aliens. Dubbed the “North Detention Facility” (for now), the detension center is to be constructed at Camp Blanding, a Florida National Guard training center just south of Jacksonville.
- The Michelin star rated restuarant Konro, in West Palm Beach, has closed following the arrest of the chef and owner Jacob Bickelhaupt following an alleged assault on his wife that’s prompted attempted second degree murder charges.
- Today is day six of the scheduled eight-day closure of Northlake Blvd. at Beeline Highway for CSX railroad crossing repairs. Delays of an hour or more are possible with detours of 21 and 34 miles serving as the only options for navigating around the closure.

- Three systems are being tracked in the Atlantic by the National Hurricane Center. Tropical Storm Dexter continues to track away from the U.S. towards the northern mid-Atlantic. There’s a disturbance moving towards the mid-Atlantic with a 60% chance of development and a disturbance off the Southeast U.S. coastline, moving away from the coast, with a 30% chance of development.
- Gas prices were flat on Wednesday. The average price for regular unleaded in Florida is currently $3.13 per gallon. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.27 per gallon, in Martin the average is $3.19 St. Lucie is at $3.16, and in Indian River County the average is $3.13 per gallon.
