- The three victims of the turnpike crash caused by an illegal U-Turn committed by illegal alien Harjinder Singh have been identified the victims are Herb Dufresne of Florida City, Rodrigue Dor of Miami and Faniola Joseph of Pompano Beach. Two of the three victims died at the scene with the driver, Dufresne dying at a hospital after being airlifted from the scene.
- West Palm Beach has removed the “pride” crosswalk at the intersection of Spruce Ave. and Northwood Road to comply with the state’s traffic laws. The removal comes amid a looming battle with Delray Beach which is challenging the FDOT’s order to remove their expansive pride mural in an administrative hearing in Orlando next Tuesday.
- It'll be sunny much of the day and hot once again today with highs in the low 90’s, which is slightly warmer than usual for this date. A layer of Saharan dust is passing through the Carribean, over Cuba and towards South Florida with light impacts in South Florida today and a greater impact tomorrow.
- The National Hurricane Center is tracking Tropical Storm Fernand is spinning towards the northern mid-Atlantic with top winds of 50 MPH and doesn’t pose a threat to populated areas. No other tropical cyclone activity is expected for the next seven days.
- Gas prices surged 14 cents per gallon on Monday after having been near the low price for the year. The average price for regular unleaded in Florida is currently $3.06 per gallon. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.20 per gallon, in Martin the average is $3.13, it’s $3.08 in St. Lucie, and in Indian River County the average is $3.09 per gallon.
