  • Florida Surgeon General Dr. Joesph Ladapo announced that the state intends to end all vaccine mandates within the state of Florida, including those required to attend public schools. Current mandatory school vaccinations include measles, chickenpox, hepatitis B and polio among others. State law currently requires the vaccinations so the state legislature would have to approve legislation ratifying the change for the policy to be permanently changed. Related... 
  • Governor DeSantis announced the establishment of a MAHA, or Make America Healthy Again commission within the state of Florida. The commission's aim will include the promotion of healthy food, informed consent on medical decisions and emphasizing parental rights in medical decisions. 
  • Clouds and rain will be in the mix again today with highs in the mid-80's, which is typical for this date. A plume of Saharan dust is in the mid-Atlantic approaching the Leeward Islands acting as a headwind for tropical development. Related... 
  • The National Hurricane Center is tracking one system. A disturbance approaching the southern mid-Atlantic is currently being given an 80% chance of development by the end of the week. 
  • Gas prices rose another three cents per gallon on Wednesday. The average price for regular unleaded in Florida is currently $3.14 per gallon. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.28 per gallon, in Martin the average is $3.19, it’s $3.17 in St. Lucie, and in Indian River County the average is $3.16 per gallon.
