- More illegal aliens were transported into Florida during the Biden administration than any other state based on newly released government data obtained by the Associated Press. Florida saw 1,271 illegal aliens brought into the state per 100,000 in population – totals higher than New York and California which ranked second and third. South Florida was the most impacted region with the Miami metro seeing an increase of 2,191 illegal aliens brought in per 100,000 residents.
- Florida is and will remain the top destination in the world for the ultra-wealthy. Altrata’s World Ultra Wealth Report for 2025 shows Florida will grow its ultra-wealthy population by an estimated 8.8% annually over the next decade generating $20 billion in additional economic impact for the state near-term.
- Showers and thunderstorms are possible throughout the day today with highs in the low 80’s - a little cooler than usual for this date. A thin plume of Saharan dust extends from the Bahamas through the Caribbean Sea with a separate plume in the central Atlantic acting as a headwind for tropical development. Related...
- The National Hurricane Center is tracking three systems in the Atlantic. Hurricane Imelda has passed through Bermuda and is tracking east northeast towards the northern mid-Atlantic. A disturbance in the Southern Atlantic off the Coast of Africa has a 20% chance of developing over the next seven days, while a disturbance may form off the southeastern Florida coastline moving over our state this weekend with a 10% chance of developing.
- Gas prices dropped a penny per gallon on Wednesday – though we saw small increases locally. The average price for regular unleaded in Florida is currently $3.11 per gallon. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.29 per gallon, in Martin the average is $3.16, it’s $3.15 in St. Lucie, and in Indian River County the average is $3.16 per gallon.
