  • Amid the ongoing partial government shutdown, air traffic at Palm Beach International Airport continues to be affected. A total of 59 flight cancellations have occurred since Friday entering Tuesday – with many more delays. All travelers should pay close attention to flight schedules.   
  • Martin County’s free public transit program is now in effect. Approved by the county commission last week, the county’s 14 buses will now be free for residents for use as the $1.50 passenger fee has been eliminated. The buses maintain five fixed routes and cover 67 bus stops across the county. Transit officials have reported a 66% increase in riders since 2021. Martin joins Indian River and St. Lucie counties with free access to public transit. 
  • Cold and breezy conditions throughout the area today as near record-breaking cold temperatures are felt this morning with lows in the upper 30’s in the northern Treasure Coast to low 40’s in the Palm Beaches. Highs will be in the low to mid-60's far cooler than usual for this date. A thin plume of Saharan dust is tracking from the Caribbean Sea through the Bahamas with another light plume in the central Atlantic, acting as a headwind for tropical development. Related...   
  • The National Hurricane Center’s map is clear. Tropical cyclone activity is not expected during the next 7 days. 
  • Gas prices rose ten cents per gallon off of Monday’s mornings multi-year lows. The average price for regular unleaded in Florida is currently $2.94 per gallon. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.07 per gallon, in Martin the average is $2.98, it’s $2.92 in St. Lucie, and in Indian River County the average is $2.92 per gallon.
