IOC on Gender Identity, SCOTUS on Marriage & End of the Shutdown in Sight

The IOC on Gender Identity, SCOTUS on Marriage & The End of the Shutdown in Sight – Top 3 Takeaways, November 11th, 2025

Takeaway #1: What was the point of this thing?

Today is day 42 of the partial government shutdown, what’s now the longest in American history by a full week. It’s also the 42nd day you still likely haven’t been impacted by the shutdown in anyway. Congratulations for having survived for six full weeks without 34% of the federal government operating. Who knew that it would be possible to make it this far without the full bloat of the federal government in place? In any event, following Sunday night’s procedural vote to break the senate filibuster to end the partial government shutdown, by congress effectively doing exactly what they were going to do anyway if there hadn’t been a government shutdown, the Senate passed the continuing resolution Monday night with the bill having now moved onto the House with the train on the tracks for an end to the shutdown this week. The new legislation will fully fund some of the federal government through the end of the fiscal year next September and all of the federal government through January. House Speaker Mike Johnson is onboard with the Senate’s agreement and intends to take it up ASAP. So, about that. It appears likely that assuming the train stays on the tracks by the time the vote has been taken in the House and then for it to arrive on President Trump’s desk – we're looking at a reopening possible on Thursday. That’s helpful for the purpose of getting air traffic control back under control in time to avoid a Thanksgiving travel disaster. But in the meantime, it means that cancellations will continue to pile up across the country. Flight cancelations now total over 5,000 since air traffic was reduced starting last Friday, with 61 at PBI since Friday night and overall, 1,200 cancelations across the state. The cascading effect of air travel issues has now led to a total of 26% of Americans having been directly impacted by the effects of the partial government shutdown, through travel, as federal employees, or through delayed benefits. That’s up 4% since Saturday. So, with over a quarter of the country impacted and climbing it’s a good thing to see an end to this on the horizon, even if from policy point, we’re exactly where we were when this started – which will be the case. Apparently, the only point to this thing was for Democrats to show TDS riddled voters in last Tuesday’s elections that they were still resisting. I hope it was worth it to them. It certainly hasn’t been to 26% of Americans negatively impacted and climbing – though it has served the purpose to show that we can go six weeks without over a third of the federal government doing anything and without about three-quarters of the country even noticing. Clearly, there's the ability to permanently DOGE wide swaths of the federal government.

Takeaway #2: Dudes who pretend to be women aren't actually women

Staring directly at the sun. Driving the speed limit (or below) in the left lane. A speedo (as in putting on a banana hammock and walking around). Voting for a Democrat. These are all clearly things that you shouldn’t do. Something else that goes into this bucket, taking a look at the homosexual alphabet and thinking that you should identify as something on it. Speaking of which, on Monday the IOC finally did the intelligent thing. Yes, on Monday, November 10th, 2025, the International Olympic Committee finally decided to follow the science, or maybe it’s the first day that they discovered science? In any event here’s what happened. The IOC announced that it will soon enact a policy preventing men who pretend to be women from competing as women in the Olympics. Specifically, the policy states that “transgender female athletes” may not compete against “biological women”. And why has there been this sudden change of heart? Evidently, they discovered science. The IOC’s medical and scientific director, recently put together a presentation showing...wait for it...physical advantages in biological males, even those who’d undergone transgendered procedures. Thank goodness for the IOC’s medical and scientific director, right? How could we have ever arrived at that earth-shattering conclusion without this recent revelation? But also making news yesterday...

Takeaway #3: Something that went the homosexual alphabet’s way

In the event you identify as gender indeterminant, you’ll still be able to marry in the eyes of the government. On Monday the Supreme Court declined to take up a case that would have revisited the same sex marriage issue that the court previously allowed for in 2015. With the high court refusing to take up the appeal in the case of former Kentucky county clerk Kim Davis, who was held in contempt for refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples citing her religious beliefs, Kim Davis has lost her appeal, her job permanently, and $100,000 in damages to victims from withholding marriage licenses in addition to legal fees. So same sex marriage remains in place, as does the Bible which, starting with Genesis, is clear on this issue and has been for thousands of years. Kim might have been found to be wrong in the eyes of government but not in the eyes of God – so there’s that.
