The End of the Shutdown & Chuck You, Plus Obamacare is the Healthcare Crisis – Top 3 Takeaways, November 12th, 2025
Takeaway #1: The end is nigh
That’s true of the partial government shutdown as it’s now on its 43rd day. That’s appearing to be true as far as the political career of the shutdown architect, it’s looking worse for that guy by the day. So first about the shutdown status. Last night the House Rules Committee fast tracked the Senate’s continuing resolution to reopen the federal government, passing it through to the full House for a vote that’s set to take place today. While the GOP margin in the House remains small, what’s clear is that the outcome of today’s vote isn’t likely to be. Not only is the GOP majority set to vote for the resolution, it appears possible that some Democrats in swing districts may too. Should that play out today, President Trump is at the ready to sign it into law right away. This has us on track for the full federal government reopening to take place on Thursday. But as the government is set to reopen what’s clear is that the Democrats have a significantly diminished leader. The highest elected Democrat in this country is none other than the man Rush Limbaugh nicknamed “you”. As in Chuck “You” Schumer. And as Rush looks down from above, he’s probably laughing at the extent to which ole’ Chuck has lived up to that name. This whole shutdown was nothing more than a screw you to President Trump and by proxy to the federal government employees and everyone else in society who was impacted by this thing. The entire strategy going in was to demand an extension to the socialist COVID-era Obamacare tax credits that propped up the unaffordable ACA plans on the exchange by shifting 92% of the cost, or $5,727 per plan, from the people using them onto you. In addition, Schumer demanded an end to the recently reactivated Medicaid work requirements which simply say that in order for able bodied working age people to continue to receive Medicaid coverage to work at least 20 hours per week, volunteer for 20 hours or week or receive education for at least 20 hours per week. That’s because...
Takeaway #2: The Democrat Party has decided to super serve losers in life who chose to be slugs
After all how dare we force people who are capable of doing anything productive with their lives for 20 hours per week in order to get the full monty of government freebies (which of course are anything but free). But anyway, in the end Schumer didn’t get either of those things and as a result the only thing that changed was that Chuck You screwed you. One of the Senate Democrats who peeled off to vote for an end to the shutdown, Maine’s Angus King said this to Morning Schmoe yesterday in talking about the Democrat’s stated shutdown goals: The problem was the shutdown wasn’t accomplishing either of the goals and there was zero likelihood that it was going to. He went on to say that the shutdown only gave President Trump more power. Now, he’s right, but it’s also fair to ask – if there was zero likelihood that Schumer’s tactic was going to work why did he and his fellow donkeys force the longest shutdown in American history as opposed to joining with the Republicans they eventually voted with to end the stupid shutdown. In any event, while they apparently got what they wanted on Election Day last Tuesday, Democrats were the clear losers of this shutdown generally and none more so than Chuck You. The knives are out for Schumer from all sides of the party, and it’s become open season on him for his absolute failure in forcing the shutdown from the beginning. The irony is that many have suspected Schumer’s approach has been guided by a perceived need to protect himself from his left, namely a potential senate challenge from AOC that could be forthcoming. But by enacting the policies and stances of the radical left, that is in this instance to simply “resist”, as opposed to actually representing the interests of his constituents, he may have done himself in. Currently Chuck Schumer’s favorability rating in the RealClear Politics average of polls stands at 27%. By comparison that makes Joe Biden, who left office with favorability in the 30’s, look like a popular dude. There’s the old saying that if you do what’s right, the rest will take care of itself. Well, when you choose to what’s wrong that has a way of taking care of itself too. This shutdown was the beginning of the end of ole’ Chuck You. In other news...
Takeaway #3: Obamacare is the healthcare crisis
In voting no for the continuing resolution to end the partial government shutdown – Chuck Schumer literally said... This healthcare crisis is so severe...so urgent...so devastating...for families back home that I cannot in good faith support this. So what is this healthcare crisis he’s speaking of? It’s Obamacare! Something he voted to create. Something that was pitched as the Affordable Care Act. It’s been such a failure that unless 92% of the costs are paid for by the people who don’t use ACA plans, it’s a crisis! You can’t make this up. The fraud is up and so too is Chuck’s time in leadership.
