  • Florida AG James Uthemeier announced the safe return of 122 missing children across the state on Monday. Operation Home for the Holidays, a joint operation led by the U.S. Marshals Service with the state of Florida is being called one of the largest recovery operations in American history. The operation seeking to reunite missing children with parents led to six arrests while recovering children aged 23 months to 17 years.  
  • The City of Stuart has established a new traffic enforcement unit to crackdown on speeding and unsafe driving within the city. The new unit includes three officers tasked with traffic enforcement at high profile locations throughout the city including the Roosevelt Bridge, U.S. 1, Kanner Highway and Ocean Blvd.  
  • A major Boca Raton development project will be taken up at today’s city’s Planning and Zoning board meeting which includes a public hearing. Spanish River Development Partners is proposing a 77-acre mixed use development along Spanish River Blvd. Near I-95. The plan calls for 781 residential units, a 185-room hotel, 2,729 parking spaces with significant retail and office spaces within the complex. The meeting takes place at 6 p.m. at the Boca Raton Community Center. 
  • Sunny skies and seasonal temps today with highs near 80. The National Hurricane Center’s map is clear. Tropical cyclone activity is not expected during the next 7 days. 
  • Gas prices rose three cents per gallon on Monday. The average price for regular unleaded in Florida is currently $2.95 per gallon. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.09 per gallon, in Martin the average is $3.01, it’s $2.96 in St. Lucie, and in Indian River County the average is $2.93 per gallon.
