Trumpcare Could Change Everything – Top 3 Takeaways, November 20th, 2025

Trumpcare Could Change Everything – Top 3 Takeaways, November 20th, 2025

Takeaway #1: The fix has been in

The fix has been in on healthcare since March 23rd, 2010. That’s the day that Barack Obama signed into law the ACA and all the lies that came along with it. It wasn’t true that the law made healthcare affordable. It wasn’t true that if you liked your existing health insurance plan, you could keep it. It wasn’t true that if you liked your doctor, you’d still be able to keep seeing him (or her). What was true was that one of the greatest corporate welfare projects in American history, if not the largest, was set into motion and along with it a guarantee that there would be less healthcare affordability. That’s because the (not) Affordable Care Act took the greatest obstacle to affordable healthcare, which is health insurance, and mandated it. The greatest lie that’s been perpetuated ever since is that “health insurance equals healthcare”. That’s just B.S. The fact of the matter is that the average American, the average family can’t afford actual healthcare because of the staggeringly high cost of health insurance. That’s true with employee sponsored plans, that’s especially true of exchange-based Obamacare plans too. We recently had a six-week partial government shutdown, the longest in history, because Democrats claimed there would be a “healthcare crisis” if COVID-era Obamacare tax credits that propped up the unaffordable ACA plans weren’t extended. In voting no for the continuing resolution to end the partial government shutdown – Chuck Schumer said... This healthcare crisis is so severe...so urgent...so devastating...for families back home that I cannot in good faith support this. So, what is this healthcare crisis he’s speaking of? It’s Obamacare! Something he voted to create. Something that was pitched as the Affordable Care Act. It’s been such a failure that unless 92% of the costs are paid for by the people who don’t use ACA plans, it’s a crisis! That’s because the fix has been in since the onset of the ACA, and the only winners have been the healthcare insurers and those who’ve been able to exploit the situation (and taxpayers).

Takeaway #2: What needs to be fixed...

As I’ve consistently said for decades...the key to solving healthcare affordability challenges is consumer price transparency. The biggest obstacle to price transparency is the current insurance first model. Health insurance should be no different than any other insurance product. If you have regular healthcare needs you should go to your healthcare provider and pay for it. If you have a major medical need or an emergency, you should file an insurance claim. If we used this model, we’d lower the total cost of healthcare by greater than 70%! The average American only spent $1,514 on actual healthcare needs over the past year. The average cost for the average American for a health insurance plan was $5,892 last year. Instead, the difference, $4,213 to be exact, is going primarily to health insurance companies, with occasional extra bloat within the healthcare service industry, as providers commonly know what they order, charge, etc. to each of the health insurers. It’s for this reason that the best answer for a path forward is with Trumpcare, not extended Obamacare subsidies. $1.5k for healthcare per person per year IS affordable. $5.9k for health insurance before you even receive or pay for any actual healthcare is what’s unaffordable in healthcare.

Takeaway #3: What’s being fixed

Senator Rick Scott is currently authoring the Trumpcare bill aimed at fixing the failures of the Affordable Care Act. President Trump recently posted: THE ONLY HEALTHCARE I WILL SUPPORT OR APPROVE IS SENDING THE MONEY DIRECTLY BACK TO THE PEOPLE, WITH NOTHING GOING TO THE BIG, FAT, RICH INSURANCE COMPANIES, WHO HAVE MADE $TRILLIONS, AND RIPPED OFF AMERICA LONG ENOUGH. THE PEOPLE WILL BE ALLOWED TO NEGOTIATE AND BUY THEIR OWN, MUCH BETTER, INSURANCE. POWER TO THE PEOPLE! Congress, do not waste your time and energy on anything else. This is the only way to have great Healthcare in America!!! GET IT DONE, NOW. And that’s exactly what’s being drawn up by Senator Scott right now. In talking with Senator Scott about his proposal for Trumpcare on Wednesday’s show, he said two things that will be key in truly fixing healthcare’s affordability crisis. The first is that the legislation will call for money that had previously been used for ACA subsidies to instead be given in the form of Health Savings Accounts that could then be used for healthcare services they need. Buying health insurance with it would no longer be mandatory. That’s key! And even in the event health insurance is purchased, it could be for a plan of their choosing, as opposed to the exchanged based offerings. This would result in consumer choice in healthcare, significantly improve price transparency, and also likely lead to a change in philosophy generally. Senator Scott indicated that he believed that the healthcare first model, as opposed to the health insurance first model, used to replace the failures of the ACA – would likely result in the rest of society following that lead. So, what does that mean? In 2025, the average employer is paying $7,798 towards an employee’s health insurance plan (a total that jumps to $20,143 for the average family plan). Imagine if rather than $7,800 to $20,100 being paid directly to insurance companies, that money were to flow to your health savings account instead? And btw, that’s in addition to the $1,527 that the average employee pays toward their employer sponsored plan or the average $6,850 that’s paid by employees for their family plan. Would you rather choose how to use all that money for your family’s healthcare needs? How much savings do you think there would likely be? What we’re talking about would be truly transformational in solving the actual healthcare affordability crisis in this country. Now the legislation is still being written, and it’s important that the final product equals the explanation, but if it does – this needs to get done. Obamacare was an abomination. Trumpcare has the potential to change everything for the better.
