We’re Set for Unprecedented Success in 2026 - Top 3 Takeaways January 5th, 2026
Takeaway #1: Are you tired of winning yet?
President Trump is many things. Few of them are understated. But somewhat remarkably the first 11+ months of his administration’s accomplishments are understated. In today’s Q&A I’ll delve into the big news of the weekend involving the ouster of Maduro and what comes next in Venezuela, but to kick things off I think it’s hugely important to take stock of how incredibly successful 2025 was, where we are today and what it means for you and your family going forward. On that note... A couple of questions for you... What year has been the best year of your life? Why was that year the best year of your life? I’ll run out on a limb and say it wasn’t because of Uncle Sam – or government at any level (and if it was you have my sympathies). Odds are it wasn’t the result of a new year’s resolution either. According to YouGov only 31% of people still do the new year’s resolution thing, and of those who made resolutions last year only 9% of them maintained them throughout the year...or in other words fewer than 3% of people make new year's resolutions that stick (although the typical resolution sticks for over three months which is a bit longer than I’d expected so there’s that). Anyway, small as it is, the number of successful new year's resolutions sounds right. I’ve personally never been a resolution person because there’s nothing about the change of a date on a calendar than inherently equals a commitment towards a meaningful change in your life. It’s like anything – you’ve got to want it, and you’ve got to commit to whatever it is. Now if you’re ready to do so and the new year provides the date and opportunity to do so – those are your rare successful resolutions. So back to my question about what the best year of your life was... Maybe it was the year you were married, had your first child (or last), started your dream job or business. Whatever that year, may have been it was almost certainly because...
Takeaway #2: You did what you needed to do to set yourself up for success...
and committed to whatever it was that brought about positive change (along with perhaps being incredibility lucky like I was when I married my wonderful and talented wife Ashley). The reason I’ve started with this train of thought is the result of a lot of thinking I’ve been doing about what needs to happen for you, for our country to be set up for maximum success this year – whether you’re opting for resolutions or not. The government is a lot like referees or umpires. A great officiating crew can’t create the greatest game you’ve ever watched; but awful officiating can ruin a game right? Why were the 80’s ultimately great years for this country and really the world? It wasn’t big hair. It wasn’t the parachute pants. It wasn’t Europop, although it may have at least in part been the 80’s awesome music. It wasn’t due to more federal government intervention into your life. It was due to Reagan’s leadership leading to less government influence in our lives – starting with significantly lower taxes allowing you to keep more of the money you’d earned and extending through his philosophy of peace through strength. Why did the 90’s generally turn out as well as they did? It of course was because Al Gore had invented the internet. Thank God for that that right? Btw, has anyone asked him if he’s responsible for AI too? And why did the first three years of President Trump’s first term lead to unprecedented success for this country including record low unemployment for all minority groups, low crime, record high wages, strong wage growth and nearly non-existent inflation prior to the impact of the pandemic? Was it not due to almost exactly the same reasons we had the success we had in the 80’s? At the same time wasn’t almost all of the success we ended up enjoying during that first three-year period underappreciated by the average American after Trump’s first 11+ months in 2017?
Takeaway #3: The receipts
Here’s a highly abbreviated list of President Trump’s accomplishments from 2025:
- There are approximately 271,000 fewer federal government employees compared to January 20, 2025. The size of the federal bureaucracy, excluding the military, has shrunk by greater than 9% since Trump took office. That’s a decline of nearly 1% in size per month.
- 20% of companies have eliminated DEI programs completely this year, and an additional 10% of companies with DEI programs reduced the spending/influence of those programs this year. Additionally, 432 colleges and universities across 47 states have eliminated DEI programs this year.
- The NCAA changed its official policy stance to end men pretending to be women from competing as women in collegiate athletics.
- Massive leadership changes at major news organizations including CBS News, NPR, NBC amid it’s break from MSNBC’s news organization entirely and even at the BBC after their January 6th fake news editing scandal.

- Total illegal border crossings including gottaways are at the lowest level in recorded history
- A record breaking 2.5+ million deportations took place
- Net of inflation the average American is finally getting ahead once again (by about 1%). Under the Biden administration the average American was about 3% worse off than they were previously.

- Trump negotiated peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Cambodia and Thailand, Israel and Iran, Gazans and Israel, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, India and Pakistan, Egypt and Ethiopia, Serbia and Kosovo and of course is actively working towards bringing an end the war that’s proven to be the hardest in the Russian – Ukraine war.
- Crime came way down with homicides 17% lower, robberies off 25%, thefts are 25% lower. Overall violent crimes are about 11% lower, and property crimes are 12% lower.
- Trump cut a total of 646 regulations reducing consumer expense by about $600 per household annually.
- Trump secured a total of $9.6 trillion in new U.S. investment. The total foreign investment into the United States over the entire prior ten-year period (2015-2024) was approximately $2.2 trillion. That’s not a mistake. What Trump secured in 11+ months is the equivalent of about 44 years' worth of investments into the United States previously.
Buckle up because the good news is just getting started. We’re set for unprecedented success in 2026 – if we do our part to seize it.
