Sanity Prevails; The Economy Prevails & Florida Does Too - Top 3 Takeaways

Sanity Prevails; The Economy Prevails & Florida Does Too - Top 3 Takeaways January 14th, 2026

Takeaway #1: Sanity prevails?

Sex is what matters in sports. That's an actual quote, moreover an actual legal argument from yesterday’s Supreme Court hearing in the first of two cases involving males pretending to be females and competing as females because the brain of everyone involved in that decision was broken... The two cases in question before the Supreme Court, Little v. Hecox and West Virginia v. B.P.J. involved legal challenges by mentally ill males pretending to be females seeking to overturn state laws preventing males from competing as though they are females. Yesterday I suggested that the subject matter and the participants (namely Justice Jackson who is on the record as not being able to provide the definition of woman), had the makings of being a particularly interesting hearing. The quote that I first cited was indeed advanced by Alan Hurst, Idaho’s solicitor general arguing on behalf of his state’s law mandating that athletes compete in athletics that correspond to their biological sex. And indeed, he is right...though it’s still sadly remarkable that this point needs to be made. Sex is indeed what matters most in sports. One’s biological sex at birth...not one’s make believe gender identity on the homosexual alphabet tree. Before any competition takes place on a field or in a gym or on a track or wherever, knowing who’s eligible to be competing is without a doubt the most important thing. For all of known humanity, until just recently, this wasn’t something that required a legal proceeding to determine. It’s not something that anyone in their right mind would argue. But in a society with a political movement and political party that has shunned God along with any sense of morality, decency and commonsense...here we are. But the good news to the extent that there can be good news, given that we’re now in this place of immorality and absurdity, is that it does appear that sanity will prevail. But no, it doesn’t appear to be unanimous sanity, as it does appear that the court’s progressive justices – Sotomayor, Kagan and Jackson – all women mind you - seemingly were arguing that men should be allowed to pretend they’re women and compete as women. Jackson for example...seemingly still hasn’t learned what a woman is...or for that matter what a girl or a boy is. Here’s are a couple of related quotes from the hearing... Justice Kagan “A lot of your briefing really rejects their view of the science”. Their view of the science? As if the science of biological sex isn’t settled? As for Mrs. Jackson... “If a litigant is transgender and hasn't gone through puberty and doesn't have the same advantages, that's treating them differently”. Got it Justice Jackson. You don’t know what the definition of a women is, but if a prepubescent boy pretends to be a girl, than he deserves Title IX protection as a girl? Want to talk about science deniers? We've never seen anything comparable to the homosexual alphabeters. What that boy deserves is a teacher who educates instead of indoctrinates, a mother and father who aren’t libtards, and a Bible. Anyway – it appears very likely that the men (and one real woman on the Supreme Court) are willing to rule with sanity and for the protection of girls and women.

Takeaway #2: The economy prevails

Trump was right again. Jerome Powell, aka “Too Late” and the Federal Reserve at Large...No so much. Yesterday’s Consumer Price Index Report once again showed inflation rising by a lower rate than economists and notably the Federal Reserve had expected. The overall inflation rate stayed the same at 2.7% while the CORE inflation rate that the Fed cares about the most (which excludes food and energy) dropped to 2.6% - which wasn’t expected. That the economy, which at last report had been growing at a rate of 4.1% over the prior six months, while inflation continues to slowly drop shows that Trump’s been right all along and that the Fed continues to be behind the curve in reducing interest rates. Nevertheless, investors still don’t feel that the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates later this month. Currently investors have priced a 97% chance of no change into the market. Btw, locally – the rate of inflation is now lower than what it is nationally. In the Miami-Fort Lauderdale-West Palm Beach metro the topline inflation rate was only 2.6% with the CORE rate at 2.5% - the lowest inflation rate for December since Donald Trump was previously President of the United States (in 2020).

Takeaway #3: Florida prevails

Governor DeSantis’s final State-of-the-State address was delivered in a half hour. The concept of being brief, being brilliant and being gone came time mind as he reflected on Florida's remarkable success over the past seven years. Running with the theme of 2026 being our country’s 250th anniversary – he stated that “results are what matter most” and that Florida has delivered big results including best-in-the-nation education driven by the B.E.S.T. standards and universal school choice and economic performance while having the lowest state government spending per capita in the country, a rate that’s half of the national average – illustrating that government isn’t what makes a state great but actually it’s the absence of a large and bloated government that does. Btw, the governor delivered breaking news during his speech that the state’s graduation rate hit 92.2% last school year – the highest in our state’s history exceeding the pandemic peak when graduation testing was suspended. The governor articulated that no state better resembles the founder's vision for this country than the Free State of Florida. And yes, he laid out his agenda for this year’s state legislative session headlined by his desire to end homesteaded property taxation. In the words of DeSantis... You should be able to own your home without paying perpetual rent to the government. And to that I say Amen. Florida has prevailed but there’s much more work to do and a historic opportunity to end much of the property taxation in our state once and for all this year.
