- A Jacksonville official has been placed on leave following a social media post alerting illegal immigrants about an ICE operation in the city. The city’s “Hispanic Outreach Coordinator”, appointed by Democrat mayor Donna Deegan, was placed on leave following a video filmed at city hall advising illegal immigrants of what to do should they be approached by ICE officers and areas they should avoid. Those actions violate federal and state laws.
- The West Palm Beach Police Department has issued an advisory to residents and visitors following a rise in vehicle burglaries to start the year. 23 burglaries were reported during the first two weeks of the year. Police advise residents to remove valuables from vehicles, be sure to lock all doors, and to be sure remove keys.
- A total of 26 of the 88 German Shepherds rescued from a Texas breeding operation by the FBI have now made their way to Big Dog Ranch Rescue. Puppies and mature dogs were among the rescues in the animal cruelty case and are available for adoption.
- We’ll have showers throughout the morning as a cold front moves into our area. Today’s highs will be in the low to upper 60’s throughout the Palm Beaches and Treasure Coast.
- Gas prices were flat on Wednesday and are 8 cents higher than a week ago. The average price for regular unleaded in Florida is currently $2.83 per gallon. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.01 per gallon, in Martin the average is $2.88, it’s $2.88 in St. Lucie, and in Indian River County the average is $2.86 per gallon.
