  • Jupiter Medical patients are being notified that their personal information may have been compromised due to a data breach by a third-party vender – Cerner Corporation. According to an ongoing investigation personal information may have been compromised as early as January 22nd of last year. While Jupiter Medical says their network wasn’t compromised, the Cerner breech may have exposed patient names, Social Security numbers and medical record information.
  • FAU is severing ties with a former English professor, Kate Polak, who has been on leave since posting celebratory material on social media following Charlie Kirk’s assassination last September. An investigation headed by former Florida Supreme Court justice Alan Lawson concluded that her postsWould be understood by most readers as condoning on-campus violence. Among Polak’s postings she called Kirk’s assassination a win that she enjoyed and said: Delighting in the death of someone who wished death on us isn’t sick. It’s self-defense.
  • Indian River State College rolled out its Promise Program for the Class of 2026 which includes the opportunity for free tuition for local graduates. Under the program, high school graduates can earn a two-year associates degree without restrictions beyond residency requirements.
