Bottom Line: Your daily recap of the biggest news from around the state that impacts you throughout the Palm Beaches and Treasure Coast.     

  • Florida has opted into the Federal Education Freedom Tax Credit that’s a new initiative created by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act signed into law by President Trump last summer. Starting January 1st of next year, Florida families will have the opportunity to receive a tax credit of up to $1,700 annually assisting parents with education expenses related to K-12 education. Florida’s universal school choice law has led to over 1.4 million Florida students using school choice options currently – the most of any state in the country. 
  • Space Force is hiring. Space Lauch Delta 45 announced that they’re hiring civilians for over 200 various positions at the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. A job fair will be held at the Tides Club from 10 am to 2 pm next Thursday the 5th. 
  • Flight delays and cancellations continued to normalize on Wednesday with only 7 total cancellations at Palm Beach International Airport.  
  • After starting the day in the 30’s along the Treasure Coast and 40’s in the Palm Beaches. High’s will reach the upper 60's today. Another cold front will move in Friday into Saturday which will bring the coldest temperatures to our area since January of 2010 this weekend. Cold weather shelters are now available throughout the Palm Beaches and Treasure Coast. Two locations open today in Palm Beach County, the Salvation Army’s Center of Hope from 7 am until 9 am and The Lord’s Place from 8:30 am until 4 pm.  
  • Gas prices rose another five cents per gallon on Wednesday. The average price for regular unleaded in Florida is currently $2.90 per gallon. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.06 per gallon, in Martin the average is $2.94, it’s $2.91 in St. Lucie, and in Indian River County the average is $2.92 per gallon.
