Takeaway #1: A Message for Chuck You Schumer
On Wednesday Congressman, and leading Florida gubernatorial candidate, Byron Donalds had a message for Chuck Schumer who called the SAVE Act, “Jim Crow 2.0”. When I asked Donalds what he had to say to Chuck about his inference he said: Chuck Schumer can go to hell. Now, as a practicing Catholic, there are a lot of reasons that come to mind as to why Chuck Schumer may find himself in that destination one day. And while the SAVE ACT may not so specifically be the thing that punches his ticket to an unholy eternity, the dishonesty behind his position and attempting to divide and manipulate people by race for the benefit of his own power may well be a contributing factor. The SAVE ACT, which as we’ve discussed recently, requires two basic things... 1) That a voter is a legal citizen and 2) That voters provide ID to vote ... is of course not only not “Jim Crow 2.0 (or Jim Eagle)”, the racist position is Chuck Schumer’s position. Schumer is the person espousing bigotry by asserting that somehow or another Black voters are less capable people than all other voters. As I pointed out yesterday, not only did Gallup find 84% of voters supportive of mandatory voter ID, but 80% of Black voters said they wanted it to. Pretty much the only people in the country who don’t are those who seek to rig elections and Democrats like Chuck You (which as a reminder also includes Florida’s entire Democrat delegation who’ve voted against the SAVE ACT). But here’s the next interesting evolution of what’s been happening as the country has begun having an open debate about voter ID – that Republicans, led by Rick Scott in the Senate have been pressing. Support continues to rise. According to Gallup in 2020, 80% of Americans supported mandatory voter ID. That number jumped to 84% in Gallup’s polling more recently, but what’s happened most recently? In Sinclair’s polling conducted just yesterday, 91% of respondents now say we should have mandatory ID. Republicans, and for that matter common sense, appear to be winning the day here. And what this issue shows as much as anything – is just how deep the divide is at the base political level. Here’s an issue Chuck Schumer is explicitly saying is the equivalent to forced racial segregation in the South after the Civil War that now 91% of Americans say is the right thing to do.
Takeaway #2: This is an instructive time in this country.
All lot of political issues are complicated and are manipulated to divide Americans from each other fueling division and growing hate. But this issue is so-straight forward it can’t be effectively spun that way. And here’s the thing and it’s an especially important thing. This is far from the only significant political issue in which this is the case. What the SAVE Act example of, is an illustration of just how wrong Chuck Schumer and every congressional Florida Democrat actually is in general. This is how misaligned their values are with what the average American’s values happen to be. Think about it. What parents would want criminal illegal immigrants, including those guilty of rape, abuse and homicide in their community and in proximity to their family? Not a single parent who is of sound mind. But these elected Democrats do. What person would want to pay higher taxes and higher rates of inflation to support open borders and illegal immigration? Not a single person of sound mind, but these elected Democrats do. What parent thinks government officials should hold the only choice on the schools their children attend with the unions determining what’s taught to them? No parent who cares what’s best for their children, but these Democrats do. What person really thinks we should have taxpayer funded abortions? How many really think we should be paying for child “gender transitioning” - But these Democrats do. The point is this. What’s being debated right now in Washington, D.C. is a teachable moment for everybody. Democrats have become so radicalized and extreme, that effectively voting for them to represent you – is a literal vote against you and your family’s best interest. And speaking of gender transitioning...
Takeaway #3: It’s in the process of blowing up in their face
I’ve said it since the beginning, and I’ll say it again today. Any parent who supports “gender transitioning” for their children, should have their children taken away and any doctor, and medical professional who has every carried out “gender transitioning”, shouldn’t just lose their ability to practice medicine, they should be locked away and we should throw away the key. God doesn’t make mistakes and attempting to “correct” his work by mutilating children in the name of mental health is truly the most jacked up thing I’ve ever heard attempted justification for in our society. According to Pew Research 56% of Americans believe we should ban medical professionals from gender transition procedures for minors (thankfully a majority, though that number does seem to be remarkably low).
But the tide has started to turn in a big way due to two events. Earlier this week the American Society of Plastic Surgeons effectively reversed its official position by recommending against gender related medical nonsense until at least the age of 19 – citing a lack of long-term medical understanding. And that came on the heels of a first-of-its-kind lawsuit in New York that’s certain to lead to many more nationally. A now 22-year-old woman sued her medical practicer who encouraged and performed gender transitioning procedures on her at the age of 16. A jury awarded the woman $2 million – in what’s likely to open the floodgates to similar suits. At the same time, we’ve had an illustration of what the Democrat position on this still is. Earlier this week California’s Attorney General sued a San Diego hospital over its decision to end gender transiting treatments on children. Clearly elected Democrats still want to mutilate children. It’s all part of the greater illustration of the political state of play in this country. How many people can honestly say that mutilating children in the name of the homosexual alphabet is ok? But Democrats are legally willing to fight for it. This issue is even more evident than the voter ID thing that 91% now get. So yeah, Chuck Schumer may well end up in hell along with a lot of people who were supportive of this kind of stuff too. Life is about choices. The decisions we make matter. Who you vote for, or don’t vote for matters. The distance between common sense and outrageousness has never been greater between the two major political parties.
