Iran War – Who Has More Credibility Trump or Reporters? - March 3rd, 2026
Takeaway #1: The sky is falling, Trump is the bad Orangeman so what’s your Opinion of Him?
Now to be clear the sky is not falling and Trump is not orange but if all you heard about the sky and Trump were those things what would your opinion of likely him be? In yesterday’s takeaways I broke down how the Iran war is a key to preventing an eventual World War III (as China, not Iran is actually the key to this thing). I also took the opportunity yesterday to explain that OPEC+ countries agreed on Sunday to increase production to replace Iran’s displaced oil production while the war is conducted and that all of hype about oil and gas prices ‘surging’ was based on next to nothing. However, what’s been widely reported about the Iranian war and what’s the narrative on the Left been? That there’s no clear end in sight? What’s the reporting on oil and gas prices been? That they’re ‘surging’? Now if all you knew were those two things, and you heard that we lost six American heroes in the line of duty what would you think? Probably nothing positive, right? The odds would likely be very low that people would approve of such a thing. And right on cue there were numerous polls that showed just that thing yesterday. Headlines from yesterday included: CNN Poll 59% of Americans disapprove of Iran strike and most think a long-term conflict is likely and 1 in 4 Americans back Trump’s Iran strikes, most say he’s too quick to use force: poll - that was based on the Reuters/Ipsos poll. But as always perspective is key and that’s what sorely lacking with the coverage here. First of all, as I pointed out yesterday – based on the actual trading of oil futures – we were only starring at about a 7% increase, or approximately 21 cent increase at the pump. By midday that had dropped to about a 5% increase, with oil prices at about where they were in August of last year. Now no one wants to pay higher gas prices, even if the increase is small, but...
Takeaway #2: The reality of the situation paled in comparison to the hyped-up sensational reporting of the situation
Prices are higher again today, though if prices hold where they are today, you might pay about $6 more to fill up your tank than before. As I also pointed out through every military campaign that President Trump has carried out, dating back to his first term, that the last thing he’s interested in is a forever war. And on that note consider this. Do you know what the approval rating of Trump’s removal of Maduro from Venezuela was two days after the fact? 36%, with 72% saying they were concerned the U.S. would have to put troops on the ground. But of course, Trump had a plan, it worked, that didn’t happen and do you know what Trump’s approval rating was in Venezuela one week later? 92%. Last year when Trump was busy broking an end to the Hamas Israel war, what was his approval rating on the handling of the conflict? 42%. What was Trump’s approval on the handling just three days later following the peace plan? 56%. The reason is very simple. Americans are rightly concerned about forever wars after Vietnam and Iraq and GSS news feeds into the fears with its reporting. I don’t know how this ends, but...
Takeaway #3: President Trump almost certainly does
Name one time that President Trump has taken military action that hasn’t been targeted, limited and effective? Name one time his use of military intervention didn’t lead to effective outcomes? Name one time that gas prices have ‘surged’ while he’s been president. It’s as predictable as can be that GSS News will distort and misreport what’s taking place here. It’s predictable that they’ll then use this initial polls of people who’ve been misinformed to drive a narrative that the American people aren’t with the president. Donald Trump isn’t Lyndon Johnson or George W. Bush. And just as the Venezuelan people were desperate for freedom from Maduro’s repressive regime, the same is true for Iranian citizens who’d been dying by the thousands in the streets fighting for this just recently. President Trump has credibility on foreign affairs...GSS News has as much credibility as they ever do. As I illustrated yesterday – what's taking place in Iran and Venezuela today isn’t just serving the interests of those country’s citizens, it isn’t even just about eliminating the world’s top sponsor of terrorism. The actions that President Trump has taken are helping prevent World War III – because taking Maduro out of Venezuela and the Ayatollah/Mullahs out of Iran – is also serving to kneecap China’s growing global threat and Russia’s war machine. What’s happening in Iran isn’t starting a war, it’s serving as a key cog to prevent World War. In time this should become clearer – just like Trump’s successful military interventions before - But this kind of stuff isn’t largely understood and isn’t ever reported so it’s likely that the negative polls and fear mongering tactics will persist until this is brought to a resolution – just as Trump has always planned for and delivered on. As always – it's worth considering the source.
