Unserious People Saying Unserious Things w/Serious Consequences

Unserious People Saying Unserious Things w/Serious Consequences Top 3 Takeaways - March 4th, 2026

Takeaway #1: Unserious people saying unserious things...

Tuesday played out much the way I’d have anticipated that it would play. It was day four of the Iran war which meant the fourth straight day that Democrats decided to hammer away at President Trump and Israel about the Iran war. For example, take Chuck You yesterday. Here’s what he had to sayThe self-proclaimed “peace” president is the most trigger-happy, destructive president in the history of our country. Fitfully lashing out with no strategy. That’s a new one. So apparently Donald Trump has progressed from being that bad Orangeman to the most destructive president in the history of the country. I suppose that’s true if you’re an Islamic terrorist. But that’s where TDS has led us to these days. Unserious people, saying unserious things (that even he doesn’t believe) but with serious implications. That takes us to the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Tuesday where Senator Dick Durbin had this to say to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem: Secretary Noem is the public face for an abominable anti-immigrant crusade. Her agents continue to wreak havoc on our cities and act with unspeakable cruelty against children, immigrant families, and American citizens. Yes, move over snowman, the Abominable One is Kristi Noem. And notice how it’s an “anti-immigrant crusade”... with “unspeakable cruelty” against children and immigrant families. It’s cute that it’s “unspeakable” - because I guess that’s why he couldn’t actually speak about it having happened. It’s sad that none of this is surprising at this point. But unfortunately, it’s highly instructive at this point because...

Takeaway #2: These are not reasonable people who can be counted on doing reasonable things...

Which is a real problem when they make decisions on behalf of what does and doesn’t happen in this country. I’ve been thinking about it for a while but yesterday it was as clear as clear could be to me. How is it going to be possible to effectively govern in this country? In the words of Senator Lindsey Graham yesterday... It is insane that the Department of Homeland Security is defunded. Right. It’s actually the only mandatory thing that any of these elected federal representatives do. Uphold the Constitution of the United States and protect the people of this country. Literally everything else that these people do is an optional thing. But the one mandatory thing they are sworn to do is the one thing Democrats have decided they won't do...and all for what reason? To keep illegal aliens in our communities. These are the Democrat priorities. And so on the one hand I do have an idea of when this DHS nonsense may end. It’s likely to be either due to a terror attack in this country or when TSA agents and other government employees no longer can afford to continue to work waiting for a paycheck, that will only come when the shutdown ends, grinding air travel to a halt. But even then, what’s going to happen next? The federal government is only funded through September. With leaders saying that the president is the most destructive president in history and the Department of Homeland Security is on an abominable crusade how or why can we expect these people to be more reasonable when we’re only about a month away from Election Day? The lowest form of the political condition is and has been on display for quite a while, but in recent days it’s hard to see how these clearly unreasonable people can ever be counted on to do reasonable things again. And that holds with it the potential of serious consequences for our country. I increasingly think the key to solving this thing is an end to the legislative filibuster in the Senate as it exists today. Listening to congressional Democrats on the daily, I am of the belief that if Republicans don’t do it – Democrats will one day.

Takeaway #3: Iran War Receipts

As for where we stand as we’ve entered day five of the Iranian war. Here are the receipts for what’s been achieved by the joint U.S. and Israeli mission known as Operation Epic Fury: 2,600 targets struck in Iran, 49 senior leaders killed – and Iran’s ballistic missile inventory having dropped from approximately 3,000 to 2,000 – with 567 having been fired by Iran and the balanced having been taken out on the ground. In total Iran had launched 1,925 total attacks with only 15 that made it through allied defenses. So, what does this mean? It means that all of Iran’s top-level officials are believed to be dead – at last word the now-dead Ayatollah’s son is the alleged front runner to take over. It means that only eight tenths of one percent of Iran’s attacks have breached allied defenses. It means that a third of Iran’s total missile inventory is gone. In other words, what this means is that the capacity for Iran to even keep going at this pace, all other factors remaining equal, appears to be no more than about eight more days. What happens at that point remains to be seen, however, what this illustrates is the frenetic pace of the war and that progress has come quickly to this point. As the Left continues talk of a “forever war”, without China or Russia or anyone coming to Iran’s aid, what you’re seeing take place will necessarily play itself out in a matter of days. And in the meantime, who do you think the unreasonable people who’re saying unreasonable things, are rooting for? Do you think Chuck You Schumer, Hakeem Jefferies and Dick Durbin are rooting for a quick win for Israel and the U.S.? Or do you think they’re (not-so) privately rooting for “a forever war”?
